Twice a year every Pakistani home does the same swap: the razais, blankets and winter sweaters come out of the pethi in November and go back in when the heat arrives. Loose in a cupboard they gather dust and take over every shelf. This bag holds them in one neat, zipped block that stacks on a top shelf, sits in a wardrobe or slides under the bed.

It is sized for bulky bedding: 19.5 inches wide, 19 inches tall and 10 inches deep, roughly 50 × 48 × 25 cm. That takes a folded razai or duvet, a couple of blankets, a stack of pillow covers and bed sheets, or a season's worth of sweaters and shawls.

A clear vertical window runs down the middle of the front, so you can tell the winter blankets from the guest bedding at a glance instead of unzipping every bag to find the right one. The lid zips all the way round and opens wide for loading, and there is a sturdy carry handle on each side for pulling it off a high shelf or moving it from room to room.

It is made from 110 GSM non-woven fabric - heavier than the thin, papery storage bags that tear on the first pull - with contrast binding along every edge. It keeps dust out, but it is not waterproof, so make sure clothes and bedding are completely dry before zipping them in, and keep it off a damp floor. Spot clean with a damp cloth; it is not machine washable.

Laid on its back it is 10 inches high, so it fits under most beds - measure the gap under yours first if the bed is low. Available in black with red trim, grey, or beige; choose your colour above.
