Infrared Motion Sensor Lamp Holder - 360° E27 Automatic Light Socket

A screw-in sensor that turns any ordinary bulb into an automatic one. It goes into your existing E27 socket, your bulb goes into it, and from then on the light comes on by itself when someone walks in and switches off again once the room is empty. No wiring, no electrician, no switch to find in the dark.

The infrared sensor covers a full 360° horizontally and reaches about 6 metres, so one unit handles a stairwell, a corridor, a garage or a porch. Mounted at the usual 8-10 feet it covers a circle roughly 19 feet across.

Two small dials on the body set how long the light stays on after the last movement - anywhere from 10 seconds to 5 minutes - and how dark it has to be before the sensor bothers to trigger at all. Set the light threshold low and it ignores daytime movement completely, which is where most of the electricity saving comes from.

Important: it has to hang downwards with the sensor exposed. It will not work inside a lampshade, a closed fixture or an upward-facing wall lamp, because the sensor cannot see the room. Open pendant fittings, bare ceiling sockets, porch lights and garage battens are what it is for.

Fits standard E27 screw bulbs up to 60W - LED, energy saver, filament, halogen. Runs on ordinary 100-240V mains. CE marked, weighs 125 g.
