Most car seats and office chairs leave a hollow behind the lower back. Over a long drive or a full day at a desk, your back sinks into that gap, your shoulders round forward and you end the day stiff. It is shaped to follow the curve of the back, with a raised panel of rounded bumps down the centre and firmer sides that keep it from twisting.
